Nearly ⅓ of bee populations have gone extinct in the last twenty years. This endangers the climate as bees are responsible for 75% of the world’s crop pollination and 90% of the world’s wild flowering plants. Bee pollination is crucial for sustaining ecosystems, supporting biodiversity, and ensuring food security. The existing methods of honey production endanger bees and stop them from pollinating, and despite the shrinking bee population, honey consumption is rising 5.2% annually. Bee-io’s solution allows bees to return to their traditional role of pollinating. A singular traditional hive can produce 35 kg of honey per year, whilst Bee-io’s potential future commercial capacity is 1000 tons of honey per year: the production capacity of 30,000 hives. By implementing Bee-io’s solution, the world can continue to be supplied with honey without obstructing crucial bee pollination.
