Fresh Fruit Robotics offers an orchard management system with an online platform that provides traceability, data insights, and partner recommendations by tree and fruit location to ensure orchard value and sustainability.
This system is partnered with a production-ready, high-volume, autonomous tree fruit harvesting platform using machine learning and AI that selects fruit based on producer’s criteria, and delivers the harvested fruits to the bin with high quality. Future uses of this machine will include additional operations to support season-long management of the orchard and the related data to provide additional insights. The company has developed a robotic fresh fruit harvester that enables growers to reduce costs by supplementing or replacing human workers. The harvester minimizes fruit damage and increases efficiency and productivity by precisely and gently picking more usable fruit than an average human worker.

FFRobotics' harvester combines precise and simple robotic controls; fast and accurate image processing; and advanced algorithms for identifying the location, color, and size of the fruit available for picking. In the future, the harvester will be able to distinguish usable produce from damaged, diseased, or unripe fruit; and also thin and prune, making it useful over multiple harvesting seasons. In addition, it can be easily modified to pick different types of fresh fruit (e.g. citrus, peaches, pears, mangos, and pomegranates).
