GFA (Grow Fish Anywhere) Advanced System has developed and implemented a fully closed, zero-discharge aquaculture system that is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater fish. The system prevents environmental pollution and can operate in any climate regardless of the availability of water resources or proximity to the sea.
GFA uses anaerobic water treatment for nitrate removal and the digestion of organic solids. Water rich with organic particles is taken from the bottom of the fish tanks and collected in a central sedimentation basin, where solid settling and digestion, oxygen uptake, and denitrification take place.
Using GFAs technology, the organic solids that are usually removed from recirculating systems as quickly as possible are instead used as a fuel to activate the nitrate-reducing bacteria, allowing water to return to the culture tanks with no losses, resulting in a zero-discharge system.
The companys system has been tested and proven on a scientific basis and a commercial scale.
