GreenTidio provides a chemical oxidation process for the production of titanium dioxide (TiO2), a primary white pigment used in paints, plastics, and coatings. The company utilizes a proprietary technique based on superoxide radicals to synthesize TiO2 from raw materials such as ilmenite or TiCl4. Unlike conventional manufacturing which requires high temperatures and complex infrastructure, this process operates at room temperature and normal atmospheric pressure. This methodology enables the rapid generation of high-quality TiO2 in minutes rather than hours. The technology is designed for deployment as a standalone system or as a retrofit for existing sulfate and chloride production plants. By eliminating high-heat requirements, the process reduces energy consumption by up to 90% and carbon emissions by 75%. It also delivers an estimated 70% reduction in production costs compared to traditional industrial methods. These efficiencies allow manufacturers to meet stringent sustainability standards while improving profit margins and operational scalability

GreenTidio Climate Tech relevance
Titanium dioxide is used in the paint industry, construction, coatings, food, medicine, and more. Current industrial titanium dioxide (TiO2) production, reliant on the high-energy Sulfate and Chloride processes, is constrained by its substantial carbon footprint and the management of toxic byproducts. Although recent efforts have yielded continuous, closed-loop solutions to optimize waste and energy efficiency, TiO2 manufacturing remains among the most energy-intensive processes. The carbon intensity is currently documented to be at least 5.3 tCO2/tTiO2 for state-of-the-art technologies, with traditional methods having nearly twice that impact.
We manufacture TiO2 at room temperature, with up to 75% savings in Carbon footprint and up to 90% savings in Energy.
