H2OLL
H2OLL Overview
1.1 billion people live in critical water shortage and 380 million of them in dry inland areas. H2OLL is a patented, Technion developed, atmospheric-moisture-harvesting technology. We have an absolute advantage in producing water in dry areas. We extract moisture from the air using an absorption-desorption cycle. The technology generates a year-long pure and safe drinking water supply with constant low energy requirements in any season, geographic area, and time of day.
H2OLL aims to provide an always-on, off-grid, robust, affordable, and reliable water service to support dry inland commercial & residential areas. H2OLL also strives to balance the environmental impact of consuming bottled water in communities in its key markets.
H2OLL customers are water companies, real-estate developers, Hotels, Hospitals, Retails chains (Water vending machines) and other institutional private & public sectors. We are focused on both urban & rural areas such as Phoenix, Mexico City and New Delhi.
We have a successful Alpha system. We are executing an IIA program for our first commercial pilot at a Bedouin school at the challenging weather conditions of the Israeli desert.
We are in a $ 5.0 m fund raising for our commercial pilots and operational & marketing infrastructure as well as onboarding early adaptors, to fulfill our vision of water to all.
H2OLL Climate Tech relevance
Approximately 13% of the world’s population is expected to face insufficient availability of drinking water by 2025, according to World Health Organization estimates. Climate change and urbanization increase water scarcity and water contamination. Available technologies that produce water from air cool the whole bulk of the air mass and condense the water out of it. Since there is limited amount of water in the air, they require a lot of energy to produce fresh water. H20LL’s system first separates the water from the air and secondly cools only the water vapour. Therefore, it requires less energy to produce the same amount of water.
