NaNose Medical is developing noninvasive and affordable solutions for remote and objective patient reporting informatics for screening, diagnosis, and monitoring of a variety of diseases.
NaNose Medical's technology relies on a smart sensor array combined with nanotechnology and artificial intelligence to detect disease markers in exhaled breath. NaNose, which was invented by Professor Hossam Haick of the Technion in 2011, can be used to detect cancer by detecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) produced by cancer in the breath of potential patients. The device, which is currently being assessed by medical regulators, can detect cancer, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease, gastric ailments, and more. By detecting cancer without having to wait for tumors to grow, the NaNose device offers an early warning system that could save thousands of lives, allowing cancers to be diagnosed and treated early. It could be especially valuable in diagnosing cancers that are otherwise hard to detect in time.
