Astroscale U.S. Inc. is developing innovative and scalable solutions across the spectrum of on-orbit servicing, including life extension, in situ space situational awareness, end of life, and active debris removal, to create sustainable space systems and mitigate the growing and hazardous buildup of debris in space. Astroscale is also defining business cases and working with government and commercial stakeholders to develop norms, regulations, and incentives for the responsible use of space.
Astroscale Israel Ltd operates as the R&D branch of the company, focusing on satellite servicing research and payload development for the life extension of GEO satellites. Located in Israel, the facility is equipped with a clean room dedicated to the mechanical design, production, and assembly of space systems. Additionally, it houses a specialized computer vision robotics laboratory. This lab is instrumental in developing and testing algorithms for rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO) pertinent to satellite life extension and other on-orbit services. The laboratory's capabilities allow for the simulation of the LEXI (Life Extension In-orbit) servicer's approach to client satellites in orbit.
