Ford Motor Company is a global automotive and mobility company. In 2016, Ford acquired its first Israeli company, a computer-vision and machine-learning company named SAIPS, which became its R&D center. The acquisition further strengthens Ford'sexpertise in artificial intelligence and enhanced computer vision.SAIPS has developed algorithmic solutions in image and video processing, deep learning,signal processing, and classification. This expertise will help Ford's autonomous vehicles learnand adapt to the surroundings of their environment.

In 2019, Ford opened its Ford Research Center, Israel, in the heart of Tel Avivs burgeoning technology community. The new center will serve as a research hub augmenting Fords global Research and Advanced Engineering team. It will also support Fords automotive and mobility businesses by identifying technologies and start-up companies in the fields of connectivity, sensors, automated-systems research, in-vehicle monitoring, and cybersecurity.
