General Electric (GE) has had a significant presence in Israel, primarily through its healthcare division. GE Healthcare Israel was established in 1998 following the acquisition of several Israeli companies specializing in the development and production of medical devices. These included the ultrasound division of Elbit Imaging and Elscint’s MRI division.

Over the years, GE Healthcare has made several investments in Israel. These investments have contributed to the development and production of technologies marketed worldwide. Some notable products developed in Israel include portable ultrasound systems, cardiac-vascular ultrasound systems, powerful MRI scanners, and sophisticated artificial ventilation systems.

In 2016, GE Healthcare announced the establishment of a new international development center in the Life Sciences Park, south of Haifa. This center focuses on developing imaging products for emergency rooms and trauma markets, aligning with the broader trend of increased investments in Israel's northern region.
