About
Samsung Electronics develops and manufactures high-tech electronics and digital media. The company produces smartphones, wearable devices, tablets, cameras, digital appliances, printers, network systems, medical devices, semiconductors, Internet of Things, and LED solutions.
Samsung Israel R&D Center (SIRC) was established in 2007 following the acquisition of Israeli start-up TransChip. It is part of Samsung's Device Solutions division. SIRC develops advanced camera, image processing, and computer-vision technology. Its products are part of Samsung's CMOS image sensors and mobile and automotive SoC product lines. In addition, SIRC runs an advanced flash memory research lab.
Samsung R&D Institute Israel (SRIL) was established in 1997 with the role of developing advanced technologies. SRIL runs an Open Innovation team that includes a Technology Collaboration Group and a program called RUNWAY to promote dedicated proof-of-concept projects. Both teams allow Samsung to evaluate possible integration of Israeli technologies into Samsung products.
Samsung also has marketing and distribution activities with Samsung Electronics Israel.
