Avi Moskowitz

Avi Moskowitz, co-founder of The American Registry, was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of 7 children. At age 17, he started MedPlus, his first business - a medical software consultancy. This fledgling business grew to become the leading Medical Manager Software Dealership in the U.S. prior to being acquired in 1994. An early Internet entrepreneur, Avis next venture was moving overseas to Israel in 1994 and founding NetMedia, a flagship Internet and web services provider in Israel. The company quickly grew and subsequently its ISP division was acquired and merged into Netvision, a top Israel ISP. Avi retained the web rights and in 1996 launched Virtual Jerusalem, the largest online community for Israel and Jewish interest and news. Kotel Kam (camera on the Wailing Wall) and Email to God (notes were printed and inserted into the Wailing Wall) captured the attention of international media and catapulted the site into a leading online destination. In 1999, Virtual Jerusalem, which expanded to include other community websites, merged into a public company (NASDAQ: VCIX, Virtual Communities) and Avi returned to New York as CEO of the public company. Virtual Jerusalem was sold to Bank Hapoalim in 2000. That year, Avi launched American Registry to recognize business excellence. He developed patented technology that is behind the personalized recognition platform that drives the unique marketing methodology of the business. This B2B company with a presence in 3 countries, allowed Avi to design and build its proprietary in-house software which handles all aspects of the business including e-commerce, marketing and sales, production, manufacturing and customer satisfaction. American Registry has grown to become one of the largest recognition businesses in North America. Avi is proud of his family: his wife Helen, children and grandchildren. He majored in English Literature and minored in Philosophy at Yeshiva University.
