About
I was the early mobile adopter in high school with a classic Nokia 5190, before I even had a reason to have one. It has been a love affair with mobile technology and software ever since.
I'm the ceo and co-founder (if we must use titles) of Deeplink, where we make some really great mobile software and services. I'm an entrepreneur at heart, but not the type that is hard to work with. I love working with teams, with people much smarter than me, and to dream up, define and build great products. I have a background in programming, product management, and design.
Projects involved: iOS/Android development, machine learning, data analysis, ai engines, deep linking, new UX paradigms, scaling networks to accomodate tens of millions of MAU's.
I also pride myself on keeping an eye on the bigger picture, both in product management and business development. I'd show equal passion sitting in a bizdev/sales pitch for a product I helped build, as I would in the morning scrum meeting with the engineering/design team.
I also try to give back as much as I can- this startup thing can be tough, and I'm always happy to help fellow entrepreneurs with whatever they need.
Some things I've learned along the way:
- Punching above your weight can be exhilarating and frightening. But in an awesome way.
- I don't need to get credit. I just want to help us all win. As Mark Suster put it: Individuals don't build great companies, teams do.
- Definitely think big, but more importantly, execute very well.
- Great advisors and mentors will never sugarcoat it, but still be there for you when times are tough.
- And I know it's cliche, but Wayne Gretzky's "skate where the puck is going, not to where it has been" saying really holds weight. Having been there first for custom Android lock screens, and then for deep linking (as a platform), it's so important to be able to both have a great long-term vision, but be able to take measured steps to get there.
