Google LLC, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., specializes in Internet-related services and products, which include online advertising technologies, a search engine, cloud computing, software, and hardware.

Google'sIsraeli R&D centers have developed products for use by millions of people around the world, in areas including search, analytics, and apps, such as Waze, Google Autocomplete; Live Results and Instant Insights for Search, Website Optimizer, and Chart Tools; and "Got the wrong Bob?" and backend technologies for Gmail.

The local centers also worked on the infrastructure software behind a range of Google products, doing important research on algorithms, machine learning, game theory, computer vision, and data mining.

Through the Google Cultural Institute, the company is also helping bring historical treasures, such asthe Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial archives and the Dead Sea Scrolls, online. Digitized Dead Sea Scrolls, Person Finder, and Live Results in Search all started in the Israeli offices.

Since 2021, Google is expanding its presence in Israel by building data centers to provide the required services to government ministries, the Israel Defense Forces and other state authorities and companies.
