CatAmmon is a deep-tech start-up pioneering next-generation catalysts for the global ammonia–hydrogen economy. Founded in 2024 and based on five years of academic research led by two professors, the company develops disruptive catalysts based on ceramic core and revolutionary nano-sized promoters. CatAmmon specializes in ammonia cracking & synthesis.
CatAmmon’s flagship cracking catalyst operates at only 400-500°C with no use of rare metals, and reduces CapEx and OpEx by up to 50%, enabling low-cost, scalable hydrogen production from ammonia. In parallel, the company is developing a breakthrough near-atmospheric-pressure ammonia synthesis catalyst capable of reducing ammonia price by up to 55%, offering a cleaner, more efficient alternative to the century-old Haber–Bosch process.
Within its first year, CatAmmon raised $1.85 million and is executing multiple POCs with leading global partners, including a major materials manufacturer in Japan, an automotive company in Korea, engineering firm in Switzerland, and research institutes in Germany.
